Q: What’s a trend in tech/innovation that you think more people should pay attention to?

One trend that deserves way more attention is AI-driven automation in cybersecurity—essentially, "autonomous security."

Right now, we’re seeing AI-powered cyber threats evolve at an alarming rate (deepfake phishing, AI-written malware, automated attacks), but defensive AI is struggling to keep up. Companies still rely heavily on human analysts, who are overwhelmed by alert fatigue, manual investigations, and slow response times.

The real game-changer? Autonomous AI security systems that detect, analyze, and neutralize threats in real time, without waiting for human intervention.

This means AI-powered SOCs (Security Operations Centers) that run 24/7 without human oversight and cyber "immune systems" that adapt dynamically to new threats. Automated incident response - AI reacting to threats before damage occurs.

Q: What’s one “moonshot” idea that would help put Ohio on the map as a leading tech hub?

Suppose Ohio wants to take a moonshot approach to becoming a premier tech hub. In that case, it should launch the Ohio Quantum Valley Initiative (OQVI)—a multi-billion-dollar investment to position the state as the world leader in quantum computing, AI, and next-gen semiconductor manufacturing.

Quantum computing will revolutionize industries from finance and healthcare to logistics and defense. Ohio is perfectly positioned due to its manufacturing legacy, major research universities, and access to federal and private funding.

If positioned properly, by 2035, Ohio could be the global hub for quantum computing and AI-driven advanced manufacturing, attracting top-tier talent, businesses, and federal investments, cementing its place as the “Silicon Valley of the Quantum Age.”

Q: Outside of work, what’s a favorite hobby or activity that you enjoy?

I run a non-profit that celebrates the legacy of a fallen local hero, MSG Corey Hood.  In the past 10 years, we have raised over $750,000 in MSG Hood’s name and have invested all of the proceeds to be able to give back to the local communities in his name in perpetuity.

Q: If someone were visiting your city, what’s one can’t miss coffee shop or restaurant people should try?

I tell everyone far and wide that Cincinnati has the best Steakhouses in the country.  Hands down - Jeff Rubys.  However, for a truly amazing experience, any foodie needs to go to Sotto
